ANNOUNCEMENT International Symposium on Scientific and Legal Aspects of the Regimes of the Continental Shelf and the Area Beijing, China, May 27-28, 2010 As deep sea exploration makes continuous progress, interests of the international community in regimes of the Continental Shelf and the Area keep growing. To provide an international platform for discussing matters concerning the continental shelf and the Area, the State Oceanic Administration of China (SOA) and the China Ocean Mineral Resources Research and Development Association (COMRA) are to sponsor an International Symposium on Scientific and Legal Aspects of the Regimes of the Continental Shelf and the Area in Beijing, May 27-28, 2010. The symposium will be organized by China Institute for Marine Affairs (CIMA) and the Second Institute of Oceanography (SIO), SOA.
